About Us

1st FEDERAL SAVINGS BANK OF SC, iNC.

“The Family Bank”

Our institution was established in August of 1963 as First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Walterboro. Through the years our name has changed, but our founding principle has remained the same: providing outstanding service that our customers can trust throughout the life of our banking relationship.

At the time of our founding, commercial banks in Colleton County provided short-term financing only. Those in need of long-term mortgage financing had to rely on institutions outside the local area to meet their needs. Our founding officers had the vision of a locally operated institution that offered all of the services of other commercial banks along with personalized mortgage loan servicing by local representatives.

Though residents now have more banking and financing options in the Colleton County area, 1st Federal Savings Bank of SC, Inc. is still the only local institution who promises our customers the commitment of local servicing for the duration of their loan. Lenders often sell their loans to other banks, and when they do, they usually pass along loan servicing responsibilities as well. Because we service ALL of our loans locally, you can rest assured that you will always know where to direct any questions when you finance your home with 1st Federal Savings Bank of SC, Inc.

We pride ourselves in our personal attention to each one of you, our customers, as you are a valued member of our financial family. Your needs are our #1 priority. That’s why 1st Federal Savings Bank of SC, Inc. will continue to grow and develop so that we may better serve our customers’ needs. On behalf of the entire staff of 1st Federal Savings Bank of SC, Inc., we extend a hearty Thank You for allowing us to serve this community for more than 50 years!
